Express Care, a new facility designed to handle non-life threatening, patient injury and illness needs, opened its doors in February 2008. With the cut of a grand opening ribbon, the efforts of a dedicated team of professionals were realized as the front doors swung open to welcome guests. Attendees of the ceremony received tours of the 3,816 square foot center, viewing the 12 examination rooms, two triage rooms, and the x-ray area (equipped with a General Electric Silhouette VR system).
Darin Roark, Director of Emergency Services, announced, “Members of our community will now have a state-of-the-art option for dealing with minor medical situations”. He added, “By bypassing our Emergency Department, Express Care patients will receive faster care while allowing our Emergency Department staff to focus on the critically injured or ill cases. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
Open every day, including holidays, Express Care offers shorter wait times and convenient parking. The center, staffed by board-certified Emergency Department physicians, also provides x-ray and lab capabilities on site. For more information, please call Express Care at (904)276–8621.
